This piece is made from Conceria wallpapers from Italy. It is a very premium vegetable-filled leather, with a strong grain that will produce a beautiful patina over time.
All leather products are hand-sewn at our Sydney studio. Due to the nature of the leather and because these items are individually handmade, each piece may have minor variations and marks.
Why don't we use 'vegan' leather?
Although vegan skins are not made of animal skins, the manufacture of these alternatives can actually be very harmful to the environment. Most of these synthetic materials are based on plastics, which are made from fossil fuels, and take a long time to break down.
On the other hand, the leather industry is a product of the meat industry, and no cows are killed purely for their hides. As long as humans continue to use meat, we will always use leather as a product.
